Project MikroMikko: Introduction

I've come across an old Nokia MikroMikko 4 m310 laptop. Released in 1989 with a 10" display, Intel i386, 8MB ram and 20MB of hard-drive.
The internals were already dead, so I decided to try to build something more modern into it. This series of posts will describe my journey.

First part of the project is to get the keyboard running. I started to connect all the wires and then map out which column/row was pointing to which keys.

After that I did some research on which controller I'd like to run. I decided on the Frood RP2040 Pro from 42.Keebs since it had enough I/O to handle all 22 connections.
Then I got started on the software for the controller. It runs QMK and you can find the keyboard code on my GitHub.
For the next step I've ordered a 10.5" 1920x1280 IPS display running on USB-C. My next post will be when that arrives and is mounted.
